1928

Completes First Repair 

Sweinhart was established in Los Angeles by Mr. E.F. Sweinhart as a repair facility for all types of electrical generating equipment.

1962

Leaps forward with computers.

Sweinhart formed Computer Power Products to support the development of computers and the emerging high tech industry. It quickly established itself as leading supplier of computer grade rotary power conditioning equipment. equipment

1984

Attracts notice in the technical community.

The success of both divisions captured the attention of Electronic Memories and Magnetics. They purchased both companies simultaneously.

1985

Merges with large corporation

In a deal valued at over 26 million dollars Electronic Memories and Magnetics merged with Titan Corporation.

1988

Returns to the family

Sweinhart was bought back by Denis B. Sweinhart and his business partner Dave Jones. Denis and Dave brought the company back to its roots as a repair and service facility.

2009

Adopts a new family.

The Jordan family was eager to own a small business and Dave and Denis were eager to sell. It was a perfect match. Today, David and Ninder Jordan operate and actively work at Sweinhart.

Mr. Dave Jones

Adviser

Dave is the former owner of Sweinhart. He has stayed on with the team and serves as a technical and business adviser. He supports our technicians with many years of experience gained through his previous work in Sweinhart and his Naval service. Dave supports the new owners with a wealth of business acumen.

Annete “AJ” Jahnke

Operations Supervisor

AJ joined SEC in 2010. AJ comes to us with a nursing background and variety of office and call center skills. AJ has worked as a civilian at McChord  AFB and Los Angeles AFB as well as various medical companies. She was honored with the Outstanding Civilian Award. AJ’s  education is from Madison Area Technical College, Reedsburg, WI, where she received an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. AJ grew up in Wisconsin and lived for a short time in Washington. AJ currently lives in Buena Park where she is active in church and cross fit training for obstacle course racing.

Frankie Mendez

Shop Assistant

Frankie joined us in 2014.  He has substantial automotive technician experience.  Frankie is an alumnus of Sunny Hills High School. There he was the Varsity Wrestling Team Captain, an Engineering Pathways to Innovation and Change (EPIC) graduate, and a member of the award-winning FIRST Robotics Team.  Frankie currently attends Fullerton Community college where he studies mechanical engineering.  Frankie lives in La Habra where he mentors young engineering students and spends time with his family.

Felix Sanchez

Service Technician

Felix joined us in 2010.  He has three prior years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly manufacturing.  Felix is a California Certified Electrician Trainee from the Southern California Institute of Technology.  He grew up in Manzanillo, Mexico and speaks fluent Spanish. Felix lives with his wife and kids and enjoys spending time with his family. He also loves to watch a good soccer game.

Bill Severns

Shop/Service Assistant

 

Bill Severns joined us in 2015.  He has extensive experience in warehouse management and printing press repair in addition to being a computer technician.  Bill’s education comprises of an Associate’s degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Auto Repair from Fullerton College.  Bill fondly remembers completely tearing apart and rebuilding a 1965 MG 1100 sedan with his Dad at fifteen.  Bill currently lives in Anaheim where he pursues music; he hosts karaoke nights and plays the harmonica in his free time.

Mike Stone

Service Technician

Mike joined us in 2012 as a fleet mechanic with more than 8 years of equipment maintenance experience. He has extensive knowledge of Kubota and Ford engines.  Mike is also skilled in Lean practices, such as conducting Kaizens, from his work with Kaiser Aluminum. Additionally, he served in the military as a Navy Plane Captain. Mike has technical education from Ventura College and Golden West College. Mike currently lives in Tustin, CA where he enjoys tinkering with tiny electronics.

Lakhvinder “Lucky” Jordan

Son and Technician-in-Training

Lucky came to us 1996 in Hayward, CA. A water bug since childhood Lucky is a four year varsity water polo and swim teammate. Lucky gains valuable engineering experience as the Captain of the FIRST Robotics Team and through rigorous engineering courses. Lucky is politically and socially active; he serves as President Emeritus for the Junior State of America, President of National Honor Society and American Legion Representative to California Boys State. He has achieved academic success and has been honored with the Rotary Top 30 award four years in a row. After a gap year working at the business, Lucky will be attending Olin College of Engineering in Massachusetts.

Kimraj Jordan

Daughter and Marketing Project Manager

Kimraj came to us in 1995 in Modesto, CA.  She is an alumnus of Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton, where she was named the Golden Lancer of her graduating class. Passionate about nearly everything, Kimraj was a four year varsity athlete, President Emeritus of Junior State of America, Secretary of National Honor Society, Safety Captain of the FIRST Robotics Team, and Board Member of the Assisteens of Fullerton. Kimraj has been accepted to Smith College in Massachusetts, one of the most prestigious women’s colleges in the nation, with an undeclared major.  She is currently taking a gap year to narrow her focus and gain valuable experience at Sweinhart Electric.

David Jordan

Engineer, Operations Manager

David received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in both Mechanical and Materials Engineering from UC Berkley in 1985. He worked in various roles as  Junior Engineer, Project Manager, and Auto Mechanic for the early part of his career.  David and Ninder met in 1990, while David was studying for his Marine Biology masters. From 1996-2003, David worked at UL as an Engineering Group Leader in various industries including lighting, medical, and gas-fueled equipment.  From 2003 to 2009, he worked as Senior Director of Quality for Dacor, a manufacturer of high-end kitchen appliances.  In 2009 David purchased Sweinhart Electric and began operating the business.  At Sweinhart, David has created a culture focusing on technical expertise, exceptional customer service and cost-effective sourcing of parts.  David and Ninder have two children, both of whom will be leaving for colleges in Massassachutes.  When David is not busy working and growing the business, he likes to find time to go to the beach to swim and surf.

Ninder Jordan

Owner, President

Ninder is a graduate of the University Honors Program from CSU, Stanislaus.  Ninder received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities and the prestigious Vasche Award for the “most outstanding graduate.”  Ninder worked in several office management roles for the early part of her career.  From 1995-2001, Ninder took time to be a stay-at-home mom to raise her two children.  When her children were of school age, Ninder worked for Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL) at their Brea location.  Ninder rose quickly through the company.  In 2002, Ninder was promoted to Area Manager, responsible for all factory inspections at locations that manufacture UL listed products in Southern California.  In 2006, Ninder was asked to take the role of Fire Equipment Services Manager, for all NFPA fire truck testing west of the Mississippi River.  In 2010, Ninder transferred to UL University to manage global field training.  In this role, Ninder earned over 100 certifications as a training manager, training consultant, meeting facilitator, executive and leadership coach, and instructor.   In addition to Field Operations, Ninder supported global training for UL’s Energy and Power Technologies and Building and Life Safety Technologies businesses.  Ninder enjoys volunteering with the Sunny Hills PTSA, Aquatics Booster Club, Fullerton Sister City, and FIRST Robotic.
